General Motor is giant automotive producers planing to make light truck for Indian Market. Company has announced that they launch the new light weight truck by the end of next year. GM producing the light trucks in joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC).With this GM entering in the commercial vehicles market, And compete against Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors.
GM taken this decision as a response to the market’s increasing demand for freight, a phenomenon caused by India’s rapid development.Karl Slym, president and general manager of General Motors India said that one ton freight capacity segment of the truck market will see a 15 percent increase in annual sales.
