After being applauded all over the world, Tata Motors has added another feather in its cap. Their revolutionary car, Nano, has won gold prize at 2010 Edison Awards. Tata Motors won a gold prize for the development of the low-cost Nano, which was developed to be sold at prices starting at Rs. 1 Lac in India. Tata is now working on alteration of the Nano for sale in auto markets around the world.
The 2010 Edison awards were declared last week which saw GM, Tata and Brammo as winners for transportation related innovations. US based automobile giant General Motors got a silver Edison award for one of the most useful new features added to its Onstar telematics system last year: the stolen vehicle slowdown that allows the Onstar operators to remotely cut the engine power of a vehicle that has been reported stolen avoiding high speed chases.
Brammo is an electric vehicle company based in United States. It has won a silver prize for making Enertia electric motorcycle. The Enertia uses a Lithium iron phosphate battery that has a range of 40 miles on a charge.
