Until now sales figures of diesel variants cars in India have showed an upward trend but, as per the sources it is expected that there will be a certain decrease in coming months as the government of India has decided to hike the price of fuel in the country. Long back in the year June 2006, the gap between petrol and diesel price was about of Rs 15 in national capital, whereas the current difference is only Rs 11.56. The major contributor to this expected decrease in the demand for diesel run cars is the narrowing down gap between petrol and diesel prices, because of this buyers of diesel variants are now moving towards petrol versions of the cars.
