Now trust Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car makers, to come with this type of announcement. Threatened by its position in country’s car market, the company has a ace up its sleeve. Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch as many as five CNG variants of its different models in second week of August. But, that’s not the news. The company is going to do this in a single day, itself. Maruti Suzuki will introduce CNG models of Alto, Estilo, Wagon R, Eeco and SX4 that will feature factory fitted CNG kits.

Mahindra’s Ssangyong bid on hold

As we reported earlier that Mahindra & Mahindra was thinking about bidding for troubled Korean carmaker Ssangyong Motor Co. But, according to the latest buzz India’s largest utility vehicles and tractor maker, would postpone a decision on whether to bid until closer to the August deadline. The deadline of bidding for this troubled Korean car maker has been set for the 10th of August 2010.
Toyota Recalls Over 400,000 More Cars

Toyota is recalling 412,000 passenger cars, mostly the Avalon model, in the U.S. for steering problems in which three accidents have been reported, the automaker said Thursday.
The 373,000 Avalons being recalled range from the 2000 model year through to 2004 and have improper casting of the steering lock bar — a component for the steering system — causing cracks to develop on the surface.
Get Vitamin ‘C’ In Your Nissan

The cars will come with seats that will have stress reducing system in place. The company is looking forward to launch a new range of cars that would improve the overall driving comfort for the passengers and make the environment more homely. Further the cars would be installed with friendly speedometers and reminders for timely events like birthdays and anniversary in case the driver has forgotten any of the important events.

Since last fifty years, Mercedes Benz India collaborated with Tata Motors for paint job of their cars. But, it seems now that the company is ready to part ways with Tata Motors soon. With the contract between the two companies is set to expire on December 2010, Mercedes is looking to establish their own paint shop at Chakan plant, Pune. “We are looking at our own paint shop and discussing that option with my management globally.There is no final decision just yet. We are looking at the financial feasibility of the project,” Wilfried Aulbur, managing director and chief executive officer of Mercedes-Benz India told The Economic Times.

Along with the Alto, Suzuki has also displayed the R3 MPV, Kizashi and a Swift GT3 car with a 1.5-liter petrol engine.
