We all know that after failure of their entry level sedan Logan which was joint venture between Renault and Mahindra & Mahindra, the relation between the two companies are not on good terms. The two companies found some serious differences of opinions. So the French automaker, Renault has decided to go solo in the Indian domestic market.
At Delhi Auto Show 2010 Renault introduced some of their internationally acclaimed models including Renault Megane, Fluence, Koleos, Laguna as well as its electric car model Twizzy.
Starting with their saloon model Fluence, Renault will try to compete with Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze. The car will likely to be priced between 12-14 lacs. Renault Dacia Duster based on Logan platform is another of the forthcoming launches that will be introduced in the Indian market.
After checking the response of Indian consumers, Renault will also bring its SUV model Koleos in India which will be assembled at Renault’s plant near Chennai. It will be imported as a CKD model along with Fluence to keep the cost competitive in the Indian market.
