Volkswagen India officially introduced its much awaited sedan Vento in New Delhi, yesterday. The car will compete head-on with Honda City, which is clear leader in this segment. Though the car will be commercially available in showrooms from October 2010, pre-launch booking will start soon. Bookings will be open for both petrol and diesel variants.
“For the Volkswagen Group, India is an important strategic growth market, as we continue to grow our volumes and market share in this automotive boom market with our brands Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda”, Christian Klingler, Group Board Member for Sales and Marketing commented during the car presentation.

There has been no official announcement of the price as yet. The price will be revealed near the end of the year, the expected price will be approximately Rs. 8 Lakhs to Rs. 10 Lakhs. I will update this section when we get some official information of the same.
