With Fiat India was only auto company which registered declining sales figures in the month of September, the company is going to hit the market strongly. Fiat phased out its hatchback car Palio from the Indian market to make way for its new small car Punto. But, the model is not selling very great, just giving some average sales figures for the company. So, the company is now planning to introduce a new refurbished Palio once again in the Indian market, but with a new name and slight changes in design.
Spy Shots Of New Fiat Palio?
Fiat’s design images of the Palio which is codenamed, Project 326, leaked online few months back. The new Palio will be a thorough redesign right from the platform to exteriors, interiors and powertrains. A mule of the new Palio has been spied testing near Fiat’s Betim plant.
The new Palio is based on Novo Uno platform and is slightly larger with sport styling cues borrowed from the upmarket Punto and Bravo. However, it will be smaller than the Punto and priced lower as well. The new Palio will be powered by tweaked engines from the 1.0L petrol to 1.4 FIRE petrol and the 1.3 Multijet Diesel. Although there is no news on Fiat’s new Twinair engines, we can safely expect the latest generation two cylinder engines to make their way under the bonnet of the Palio shortly after its launch.
