India’s largest two-wheeler maker, Hero Honda registered a sales growth of 10.48 percent in the month of November. The company sold 4,21,366 units compared to the 3,81,378 units sold in November 2009. Thus recording 4 lakh plus units sales for seventh consecutive months. Hero Honda had sold 5,05,553 units in October 2010.
“The four-lakh plus sales consistently recorded over the past seven months has imparted an excellent momentum to our sales for the rest of the year,” Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said.
Dua said all the segments – entry, deluxe and premium — as well as scooters contributed to the growth. “With unrelenting market demand for our products, we anticipate maintaining this buoyancy going forward,” he added.
Honda Motor Co plans to sell its stake in India’s top-ranked motorcycle maker, Hero Honda Motors , and instead focus on its wholly owned subsidiary in the country, a news report said. The Japanese automaker may earn some 100 billion yen (1.2 billion dollars) from the sale of its shares in Hero Honda, founded in 1984 with India’s Hero Group, the Nikkei business daily said.
