After captivating the minds of Indian car lovers with their hatchback model Polo, Volkswagen AG has bigger plans for the country. The German car maker is going to launch facelifted models of its sedan Jetta and Passat in the Indian market next year. Volkswagen wants to upgrade these two models and launch them with aggressive marketing.
Neeraj Garg, member of board and director (passenger cars), Volkswagen Group Sales India, said, “Jetta and Passat have become old as they were out in 2007-08 and we are looking at revitalising the models and bringing in face-lifts next year.”
He also added that the two car has done expected business in India. Volkswagen Jetta has 8% market of premium sedan segment while Volkswagen Passat has 6% share in premium luxury cars segment.
