As we saw that BMW X1 is sold out for three months in India when it launched on 23rd December as cheapest BMW in the country. But, what’s amazing is that, this phenomena is not just limited for our country. BMW X1 recently overtook the Audi Q5 to become Europe’s top selling premium SUV. Its demand is so high that the company has postpone the crossover’s U.S. launch, according some reports.
In an interview with Car and Driver, BMW spokesman Tom Plucinsky said the X1 won’t be coming “until fall of 2011 at the absolute earliest.” This is because the Leipzig plant can barely keep up European orders and a US launch simply isn’t feasible at the moment.
