After being the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2011 at the JK Tyre sponsored automobiles awards in December, Ford Figo has won ‘Car Of The Year’ at the Bloomberg-UTV Autocar India Award 2011 on 7th January. The award function was held in Mumbai with many celebrities gracing the event. In addition Ford Figo won Best Value for money car and Viewers Choice – Car of the Year awards.

The diesel Ford Figo makes a strong case for itself with the responsive and frugal 1.4-litre Duratorq motor. Plus it offers brilliant ride and handling, true to Ford DNA. The Figo’s interiors are pretty spacious, well equipped and solidly built. In fact the Figo comes across as a Fiesta without a boot. So for being excellent value for money and for its ride and handling characteristics, the Figo takes home the coveted Car of the Year 2011 award.

The award winners were selected by the eminent jury members from the auto industry which made sure to give away the award to the most deserving participant in their respective category. The jury members includes Dilip Chhabria (India’s leading Car Designer), Hormazd Sorabjee (Editor, Autocar India), Manwendra Singh (India’s leading Automobile Historian), Shapur Kotwal (Deputy Editor, Autocar India) Renuka Kirpalani (Editor, Autocar Show), Rajeev Khanna (former Rally Driver) and Naren Kumar (6-times National Champion, Rally Driver).
