Hero Honda Sales Grows By 33% In December

Despite being in the news for its de-merging India’s largest two-wheeler maker, Hero Honda, said its sales in December 2010 jumped by 33 per cent. The company managed to sell 501,111 units in December.

Hero Honda‘s full year sales grew 16.4 percent which helped lift the total for 2010 to a record of more than 5 million units.

“2010 has been an outstanding year for Hero Honda. For the coming year, we further intend to solidify our leadership by launching new products combined with customer-focused marketing programs,” Hero Honda Motors Sr VP (Marketing & Sales) Anil Dua said.

The company said during the October-December quarter of 2010, the company has sold 14,28,030 units, registering a 29 per cent growth over the same period in 2009.

Hero Honda is a joint venture between the Hero group and Japan’s Honda Motor Co. In December, Hero group bought Honda’s 26 percent stake in the JV ending the decade long relationship.
