After catching the attention of masses with launch of its cheapest car in India, BMW X1, the luxury car maker from Germany is planning to launch yet another X-series model in the country very soon. BMW India which beat Mercedes-Benz for the No. 1 spot in luxury car market is preparing to launch the new 2011 BMW X3 in India by April this year. The new X3 was unveiled at the Paris Auto Show in September 30, 2010.
BMW stated that it would offer the new X3 in two engine options: a 2.8 litre petrol and a 3.0 litre diesel for the U.S. market. For India, sources say that BMW will likely offer the 2011 X3 powered by the same 2.0 litre diesel engine producing 177 hp & 350 Nm of maximum torque and the 2.5 litre petrol engine that produces 218 hp & 250 Nm of maximum torque as offered in the current X3.
BMW is already enjoying great success in the luxury car segment with its popular car models BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series, BMW 7 Series, BMW Gran Turismo, BMW M Series, BMW X1, BMW X3, BMW X6, BMW Z4 and BMW X5. The German auto brand is also expanding majorly on its dealership network from its current number 20.
