After their split from Hero Group last year, Honda Motorcycles India is looking to expand its portfolio in the country. The intense competition in Indian two-wheeler market has forced the company to come with new ideas and techniques. So, the company is now ready to present a 100cc entry-level bike in the market. This segment is very popular in the country as these bikes gives much better mileage than any other motorcycles.
According to the sources, Honda Motorcycles India is set to launch this 100cc bike in the month of March which was announced last year. The company is expecting that with the launch of this motorcycle alone, their sales would skyrocket by about 50% from the current 40%.
The company has very high plans for launching the bike. They are also planning to set up a separate plant for this. The current plant has an annual capacity of about 1.2 mn, while the maximum installed capacity is of 1.5 mn units. As this capacity would soon be reached, the company would need more production. That is why they are contemplating a second plant.
Right now, Honda Motorcycles India has lots of bikes in its portfolio such as Honda Twister, Honda Shine, Honda CBF Stunner, Honda Unicorn, Honda Dazzler, Honda Activa, Honda CBR 1000RR, Honda Activa and Honda Dio.
