With petrol prices going sky-high, its best time for a diesel car! And who knows better than India’s largest automobile company, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. The company today launched the much awaited Maruti SX4 Diesel for the domestic market for a price range of Rs 7.74 – 8.62 lakhs. The sedan will be available in three variants – Vdi, ZDi and ZDi with leather upholstery.
The new Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel is powered by a Super Turbo DDiS engine displacing 1.3 litres and churning out 90PS and a torque of 200Nm @ 1750 rpm. The powertrain can be achieved in 0 to 100 Km in just 14.5 seconds. It boasts of a fuel economy of 21.5 kmpl. The engine is equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT), which helps in providing better performance and efficiency along with lesser turbo lag. In order to deal with the additional diesel vibrations the car has been provided with better NVH suppressants.
Maruti SX4 Diesel is also the first car which is certified as “OBD-2” complaint specifies any malfunctioning in the emission control system. The addition of a diesel powertrain has also made the car the country’s first to have a petrol, CNG and diesel variant.
