Rejoice bike lovers! The mid-range performance motorcycles segment is heating up with new launches. Just a few days after Garware launched Hyosung GT650R and ST7 in India, Bajaj Auto has revealed on their website that it will launch Kawasaki Ninja 650R this year very soon. The bike will be priced at Rs. 5 lakh to make it more competitive.
In February there were reports of launching the Ninja 650R which is powered by a 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve per cylinder, parallel twin, 649 cc engine that produces over 70 bhp of maximum power and 66 Nm of maximum torque. The 650R’s engine is mated to a 6 speed transmission and its mid-range performance is commendable.
The 650R’s design allows it to be a practical day-to-day street bike as well as a performance bike when pushed hard. It is constructed on a narrow trellis frame and the seat height is low which helps the rider in having control over the superbike. Kawasaki has wisely made the bike’s ergonomics, especially the handlebar and foot pegs to suit riders with different heights.
