After the tremendous success of Fast 5, Universal Pictures has announced a release date for the sixth film in the Fast And The Furious series. The Fast and the Furious 6 will hit movie theaters on May 24, 2013.
Details are limited, but the movie’s script is being written by Chris Morgan – who wrote the last three films – and will be directed by Justin Lin. The studio says the cast will return “for their most dangerous adventure yet.”
Soon after Fast 5 opened in April and began setting box office records, writer Chris Morgan — who wrote the last three films in the series — was tasked with coming up with a script for a sixth one. With the total worldwide box office haul for Fast Five about to pass $600 million, the fact that a sixth movie was coming was no surprise to anyone.
