Audi India Registers 75% Rise In June Sales

German luxury car maker Audi is doing great in Indian car market since it launched a variety of cars this year. Audi India registered a 75.11 per cent jump in its sales for June 2011. The company sold 408 units compare to the 233 units in the corresponding month last year, Audi India said in a statement.

During January-June period this year, the company’s sales increased by over two-fold to 2,802 units from 1,400 units in the year-ago period, it added.

Commenting on the company’s performance during the month Audi India Head Michael Perschke said, “Given our outstanding performance in the first six months of the year, we will soon surpass our 2010, annual sales of 3,003 cars. Audi India’s growth momentum is testimony to the overwhelming response received from our customers.”

Audi is currently the third largest luxury car maker in India, following BMW and Mercedes Benz at first and second spots, respectively. The current portfolio of the company in the country includes sedans like A4, A6 and A8, Sports Utility Vehicles like Q3, Q5 and Q7 , coupe Audi TT and R8 sportscar.
