Japanese car maker Nissan Motor today unveiled its mid-size segment sedan ‘Sunny’ for Indian market. Nissan Motor India did not revealed prices or engine details of the car (click here to check specifications of Sunny available in China), but, according to the buzz the car will be launched in the festive season (Oct-Dec). The tenth generation Nissan Sunny is based on the popular V (Versatile) platform, the same as the one used in the Nissan Micra.
Mr Kiminobu Tokuyama, MD & CEO, Nissan Motors India, on the unveiling of Sunny India said, “The unveiling of the iconic Nissan Sunny today reinstates our seriousness on business operations in India. It reiterates that we are as per schedule on our Indian plans including future product launches.”
“Nissan Sunny highlights the versatility of the global V- platform that allows us to benchmark ourselves with novel design features for the mid-size segment. The vehicle will offer more value to the discerning customer and carve out a niche amidst competition in the fast growing Indian automobile market,” he added.
Nissan Sunny Exteriors:
The car’s exterior design offers a refreshing design character that is both sophisticated and aerodynamic. Its design is energetic and sleek lines with sculpted and dynamic proportions that offer the sedan a very upscale look. Frontal design cues like the new Nissan signature grille and the jewel like headlights enhance the overall chic look of the vehicle while sporty and smooth silhouette is the theme for the side profile of the car. The wraparound headlights are quite attractive and gel well with the overall front contours of the car.
Nissan Sunny Interiors:
The Sunny has borrowed many bits from the Micra such as the steering wheel and chrome door handles. The lighter shades brighten up things on the inside. We expect the front seat to offer good thigh support while the rear leg room is massive; thanks to the long wheelbase (2601 mm) that has helped Nissan in carving out more user space for the rear passengers.
Designated as a premium saloon car for India, the new Nissan Sunny has been designed at Nissan Design and Nissan Motor Co Ltd headquarters in Japan along with inputs from 170 countries where it would be sold worldwide. The petrol variant of the Nissan Sunny will be manufactured at the Renault Nissan alliance Orgadam facility in Chennai.
