After its official photos got leaked, Ferrari 458 Italia Spider has been officially revealed in video now. The world’s first mid-rear engined car equipped with a retractable hard top debuts at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Spider features a newly developed, single-piece aluminium hardtop that automatically tucks away in just 14 seconds just ahead of the engine bay with a tonneau cover that features two buttresses completing the design.
The 458 Italia Spider looks pretty good with the top up and is drop-dead gorgeous with it down. The only issue some might have with this hard-top system is the removal of the window that lets you look at the glorious V8 engine that pumps out 562 hp.
The 458 Spider includes an adjustable electric wind stop designed to slow and diffuse the air in the cockpit, with the Italian company claiming that it enables “normal conversation to be held even at speeds over 200 km/h (124mph)”.
