Honda Motor has managed to keep Brio price under Rs 5 lakh mark! Today, Honda Siel Car India launched the much awaited small car- Brio – in the country with starting price of Rs 3.98 lakh. The car will be available in four variant, with top end Brio costing Rs 5.10 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
Takashi Nagai, HSCI President and CEO, said at the launch event, “With Brio, we will be entering a new segment for the first time in India. It has been designed and developed specially to meet the needs of customers here.”
He mentioned that the company has managed under Rs 5 lakh tag because of cost-efficiency measures and high localisation of components. “The Brio is at present about 80 per cent localised and over the next few months, it will reach 90 per cent,” he said, adding, “This has been key to the pricing strategy of the Brio.”
The Brio will compete with the likes of the Toyota Etios Liva, Hyundai i10, Maruti WagonR and GM’s Chevrolet Beat, which are priced in a similar range.
Engine & Mileage:
The Brio is equipped with a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine as that in the Jazz with Variable Valve timing churning out 86.7 bhp at 6000 rpm and 11.12kgm at 4800rpm, coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. The power rating has slightly dropped from that of the Jazz’s 90 bhp to deliver a better fuel efficiency of 18.4 kiloneters to a liter as per Central Motor Vehicle Rules.

Honda Brio is available in six different colours- Energetic Blue,Rally Red, Urban Titanium, Alabaster Silver, Taffeta White and Crystal Black Pear.
