All Japanese two-wheeler makers are doing good business in India. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India reported a 12.84% increase in august 2011 sales, while Yamaha Motor India registered 29.64% rise. Suzuki Motorcycle India‘s sales is up by 39.12%.
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) sold 84,476 units in August, against 74,863 units in the same month last year. Motorcycles sales rose by 32.87% to 30,454 units in the month, compared to 22,920 units in the corresponding month in 2007, HMSI said in a statement. The company reported a 4% increase in scooter sales at 54,022 units in August, compared to 51,943 units in the year-ago period.
Yamaha Motor India‘s total sales in August 2011 at stood at 39,490 units compare to 30461 units in 2010. In the domestic market, the company’s sales stood at 29,934 units as against 22,683 units in the same month last year, up 31.97%. Exports of India Yamaha rose by 22.86% to 9,556 units during the month from 7,778 units in the year-ago period, it added.
Suzuki Motorcycle India has sold 26,897 units against 19,334 units in the same month last year. “We have received very good response from the market to all our products. The growing customer satisfaction among present owners of Suzuki products has led to a positive word-of-mouth in the market,” SMIPL Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) Atul Gupta said in a statement.
