India’s largest automobile company, Tata Motors, today launched Indigo e-CS VX. One would think what’s so special about new Indigo variant. Well, the company claims it to be the most fuel-efficient sedan in the country with a mileage of 25 km to a litre.

Indigo e-CS VX is priced at Rs 5,80,339 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for CR4 diesel engine and the e-CS GVX is priced at Rs 4,97,727 lakh for MPFi petrol engine, Tata Motors said in a statement. The car comes with a warranty of 18 months and unlimited kms for private usage. Both e-CS VX and e-CS GVX are compliant with BS4 emission norms.

Powering the Indigo e-CS VX is the 1396cc CR4 common rail diesel motor which produces 69 bhp at 4000 rpm and 14.2 kgm at 1800-3000 rpm. The overall weight of the car has been reduced by around 10 kg and improvements have been made to the gear ratios all of which result in the e-CS’ impressive mileage figure.

Other class defining features in the Tata Indigo e-CX VX are stylish R14 alloy wheels, satin finish front grill, headlamps and ORVM with blinkers. They, coupled with body coloured bumpers and chrome inserts on the rub rails, endow it with head turning looks.

The interiors have been enriched with dual-tone beige seating and dashboard, premium wood-finish centre console, new instrument cluster with chrome rings and rear centre armrest for enhanced comfort. The plushness is enhanced with keyless entry, ABS, Bluetooth connectivity and electrical controls for ORVMs, besides carrying forward the comfortable AC, power steering and power windows.
