Italian super-bike maker, Ducati, is all set to unveil the new Monster 795 at the Malaysian MotoGP on October 20. According to a report in Autocar India, the new bike will be launched in India at more affordable price. It will be low-power, low spec version of Ducati 796 which is already available in the country.
The 795 will benefit from lower import duties for being assembled at Ducati’s new Thailand plant that goes live shortly. However, don’t think of this as a cheap Ducati, for the 795 will retain complete Ducati quality standards in terms of design, engineering and performance.
The report adds that the 795′s L-twin, air-cooled and twin-valve engine is expected to sport shortstroke dimensions, a Desmodromic valve train, and perhaps lower power output than the 87bhp currently offered by the 796.
The bike is expected to be priced around Rs 5 lakh when it will be launched in India by early 2012. Ducati is planning to add four new dealers within 2011 to tap into the booming Indian sports bike market.
