Nissan Motor India September Sales Increased 73%

Nissan Motors India Pvt Limited (NIMPL), the Indian subsidiary of the leading Japanese car maker Nissan Motor, has registered 73 per cent jump in sales in the month of September 2011. The company sold 2,176 units in September this year against 1,256 units sold in the same month last year.

Nissan’s flagship model in India- the hatchback Micra – is the largest contributor to this sales growth. The company sold 1,475 units of the Micra in September, 2011, up by 25 per cent from 1,183 units in the same period last year, the company said in a statement.

The remaining sales were contributed by the Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Teana and its 370z sports car, the release said.

The company also mentioned that the sales figure for September, 2011, included the initial few days of registered sales of its newly launched Sunny mid-size sedan.

The Nissan Sunny sedan was launched in Mumbai on September 20 and so far, a total of 659 units have been booked and the cars will be delivered later this week, it added.
