Rolls-Royce today launched a longer and more spacious version of the standard Ghost model at a starting price of Rs 3.05 crore to meet the growing luxury car market in India. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase will be available at a starting price of Rs 3.05 crore. The car was unveiled at Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year.
“Demand for luxury cars is growing in India and we want to tap the market with the launch of the new Ghost model,” Rolls-Royce India Business Development Head Herfried Hasenoehrl said. The company expects every third car it sells in the country to be the new Ghost Extended Wheelbase, he said but did not put a number to it.
The Rolls Royce Ghost EWB is powered by 6.6-litre twin turbocharged V12 engine which produces 555bhp and 575lb ft of torque at 1500rpm. According to Rolls-Royce, the LWB Ghost should hit 60mph in five seconds.
The Rolls-Royce Ghost’s already ample interior space is further enhanced in the Extended Wheelbase variant by the addition of 6.7-inches to the car’s wheelbase. Minimum knee-room in the back of the car – the distance between the back of the front seat in its rearmost position and the front of the rear seat’s squab – has risen from 160- to 330mm. Increased cabin space in the rear passenger compartment and a panoramic sunroof are other benefits.
