The wait for upgraded Honda City is over! Honda Siel Cars India today launched the new 2012 Honda City sedan with a few styling changes. The company has slashed the price by Rs 50,000 as compare to existing entry level model. The new Honda City basic model is priced at Rs Rs 6.99 lakh, with top level costing at Rs 10.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Seki Inaba, Director (Marketing), Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) said, “Our target is to offer a product as affordable as possible to customers. So we have launched a new Corporate Edition of the City that do not have some features, and we have cut the prices from the earlier entry-level version.”
Engine:
The sixth-generation Honda City is powered by a 1.5 litre i-Vtec petrol engine delivering 118PS@6600 rpm and max torque of 145Nm@4800 rpm. The ARAI claimed efficiency is 16.8 kilometres to a litre.
Exterior & Interior:
On the exterior, it now has a new chrome front grille, restyled front and rear bumper and all-new tail-lights, along with new 10-spoke alloy wheels in certain trim levels. The interiors get a beige treatment and the centre control panel gets some chrome fittings in addition to soft lit blue meter graphics. The Honda City now comes with enhanced ground clearance of 165 mm, 5 mm more than its predecessor which should give it an extra bit of comfort on bumpy roads. The length of the new City is 4440 mm (20 mm longer than its predecessor).
New features like cruise control and turn indicators on ORVMs in the 1.5V and V(Sunroof) trims are welcome additions. The City 1.5E will now be offered with beige interiors and addition of Integrated Advanced Audio System, while the City 1.5S feature alloy wheels.

The Honda City will be available in six colors namely Carnelian Red Pearl, Sparkling Brown Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Bold Beige Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Taffeta White.

The new Honda City comes with an additional variant named ‘Corporate’ which is a new addition to its other existing E, S and V models.
