Delhi Auto Expo: 50 Global Vehicles To Be Unveiled

Delhi Auto Expo is getting bigger with each passing year! The 11th edition will see as many as 50 new vehicles unveiled by auto makers from India and overseas. Auto Expo 2012, to be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from January 7-11, will reflect the strong confidence companies still have in the country’s auto market.

“There will be 50 major global brands that will showcase their products and this will be the largest ever in the history of the Auto Expo,” Auto Expo 2012 Steering Committee Chairman Rajive Kaul said.

The highlights will include the unveiling of 24 cars by domestic companies and 8 by global players, eight two-wheelers by homegrown firms. In all, 50 new automobiles will be made public during the expo.

he biennial New Delhi Auto Expo is organized jointly by industry lobby groups the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India and the Confederation of Indian Industries.

Mr. Kaul said organizers have decided to limit the number of visitors to 100,000 a day during the event. The numbers this time will be far lower than the last expo, when close to 1.2 million visitors attended.

“We are limiting the number of visitors to better manage the expo. This has been done based on the feedback we received after the last expo,” Mr. Kaul said.

Kaul also said that this time the tickets can be also booked online through the bookmyshow.com. Tickets are priced at Rs 150 for general public and Rs 500 for business visitors per entry.
