Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto giant Toyota Motors, has more than doubled its sales in November 2011 thanks to high demand for its newly launched twins- Etios sedan and Liva hatchback. The company’s sales accelerated 266 per cent to 13,956 units compare to sold units sold in the corresponding month of 2010.

The company said it sold 3,943 units of the Etios sedan, and 4,328 units of Etios Liva in November. While the Etios petrol was launched in December last year, Toyota launched its hatchback version Liva in June. Diesel variants for the two cars were introduced in September this year.

Toyota Kirloskar also sold 4,308 units of the Innova utility vehicle in November.

Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, TKM said, “We are very happy with the overwhelming response and confidence shown by our customers in the Etios and Etios Liva. The Etios series has sold a total of 8, 271 units in November. This growth can also be attributed to our efforts of educating more and more customers about the cost benefits of petrol cars by understanding their requirement and usage.”
