Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL) launched Hayate, a 110cc bike at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012. The bike will cost over Rs 40,000. The company also unveiled Swish125 scooter at the event which will be priced at Rs 45,431 (Delhi ex-showroom). It will be available at SMIPL’s dealers by March.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Vice-President, Sales and Marketing Atul Gupta, said the Hayate, meaning ‘Fresh Breeze’, will be available in the market from April. “During the three months time, we will work on the pricing … it will be competitively priced,” he said adding the price would not be less than Rs 40,000.

The Hayate is a 110cc commuter motorcycle with contemporary styling cues. The Suzuki Hayate will take on the likes of the Honda CB Twister. The commuter motorcycle segment in India has been receiving a heavy dose of styling treatment and the Hayate will be a worthy competitor in the segment.

Suzuki says that the new Swish is a stylized version of the Suzuki Access. The Swish will come with the same 125cc motor that does duty in the Access. The Swish is going to broaden its customer base and appeal even more to the younger generation.
