As we reported earlier, Garware Motors is going to launch three new bikes this year from its Korean partner Hyosung’s stable. The first could be the Hyosung GT250R, whose bookings will start from May 2012, according to some reports.
Garware Motors currently sells Hyosung’s GT650R and ST 7 in Indian market. But, to gain some sizable chunk of Indian two wheeler market, the Pune based company feels the need to launch new bikes with lower engine capacity at affordable price. Hyosung GT250R seems to be the good product if priced around Rs 2 lakh.
The bike looks identical to the GT650R, except for a smaller motor. It comes with a 250cc V-Twin liquid cooled engine and runs on a 4 valves/cylinder DOHC layout. The engine is fuel injected and produces a peak power of 28 Bhp and a peak torque of 23 Nm.
The reports also suggests that a naked version of the bike, called the GT250, will be launched a few months down the line.
Hyosung GT250R will compete with likes of Honda CB250R, Kawasaki Ninja 250R and recently launched Bajaj Pulsar 200NS.
