Tata Motors Global Sales Jumps 21% In January

One of India’s largest automobile company, Tata Motors, today said that it has registered a 21 per cent jump in its global sales in January 2012. The company sold 119,799 vehicles last month compare to 98,998 units it sold in January 2011.

Global sales of all passenger vehicles were at 66,785 vehicles in January 2012, higher by 26 per cent. The sales at its UK-based Jaguar Land Rover unit jumped 44 per cent to 29,293 vehicles in last month.

Sales of Jaguar sedans rose 49 per cent to 4,547 units, while Land Rover sport-utility vehicle sales climbed 43 per cent to 24,746 units.

Global sales of all commercial vehicles — Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range — were 53,014 vehicles in January 2012, a growth of 15 per cent.
