No Comments » January 17th, 2012 Abhijeet.S After the launch of new Swift hatchback last year, it was inevitable that Maruti Suzuki would come with new Swift DZire, too. The company has confirmed that it will launch a more compact version of DZire in February. Although the new model is sub-4-metres in length, qualifying for less for the excise duty of 10% enjoyed by small cars, it is unlikely that the new version of DZire will be priced lesser than the existing one, which ranges between Rs 4.94 lakh and Rs 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
January 11th, 2012 Abhijeet.S Tata Motors unveiled a compact car, Pixel based on its micro-car Nano platform at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012. The Pixel was first unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor show in March last year. The three door Gull Winged -(doors that open towards the sky) small car is currently at concept stage.

The company would test market it from June this year. TVS also announced that it will launch four new two wheelers in 2012, including two motorcycles in the executive segment and two scooters.

The company plans to roll out locally assembled car for the country’s by 2014. Peugeot also displayed a range of car including 508 sedan, 3008 crossover, 3008 Hybrid and its concept RCZ Sports Coupe at the Auto Expo.

GM hasn’t revealed the specifications of the two cars that will be launched later this year in India.

The bike was introduced at Rs 6.99 lakh initially, but given customer reaction to the pricing and an “overwhelming” response, the company has already slashed prices. It will be available for Rs 5.99 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for limited period only.

The production of the car will start in the second half of the current calendar year. Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd plans to sell 30,000 cars in the next three years, chief technology officer Chetan Maini said at the Auto Expo.
January 9th, 2012 Abhijeet.S The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki unveiled its first Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) called Ertiga at the ongoing Delhi Auto Expo 2012. It will be launched by end of March or early April 2012 in both petrol and diesel versions. The 7-seater Ertiga, earlier codenamed R3, marks Maruti suzuki’s entry into the utility vehicle segment. Prices will be announced at the time of launch, expect it to be minimum Rs. 6 lakh.

January 9th, 2012 kalpesh The Italian motorcycle maker, Piaggio Vehicles, returns to India after nearly 13 years when it unveiled Vespa scooters range at Delhi Auto Expo 2012. The Vespa sporting 125cc engines will hit Indian roads in April 2012 and will initially be available in 35 main cities. By bringing Vespa to India, Piaggio aims to make a premium segment for its brand.
