This is world of some aggressive and innovative marketing. After increasing the production of India’s cheapest car at its Sanand plant in Gujarat, Tata Motors has got another plan for Nano. The company is thinking about plan to simply drive away a Nano without earlier bookings of the car.
The largest automobile company of India is planning to dispense with the booking in the state of Maharashtra. The company will soon extend this plan to other parts of India too. Till now the customers who wanted to buy Nano had to go through the process of booking the car by paying certain amount earlier. But now as the company has increased the production of Nanos at its Sanand factory in Gujarat, it would provide respite to customers from long waiting periods.
“At this point we do not have any specific guidance on a date. We will announce the opening up of sales at an appropriate time,” said a spokesman for Tata Motors.
The company is also planning to reach to the target of 20,000 units per month by December. The Sanand plant of Tata Motors has the capacity for the production of 2.5 lakh units. These units can be ramped up to 3.5 lakh units. At its make-shift facility in Pantnagar the company produced close to 4,500 Nanos a month.
