General Motor’s new MPV which was unveiled at recently held Delhi Auto Expo 2012 will be called Chevrolet Enjoy, Autocar India reported. The car will be the first product to be launched in India from GM’s partnership with Chinese Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) and Liuzhou Wuling Motors. General Motors India will launch the new MPV in mid-2012 which is based upon Wuling CN-100.
The Enjoy will first be launched with a 94.6bhp 1.4-litre petrol, but will get a 1.3-litre SDE diesel – at the beginning of next year. The diesel engine that will be used in the Enjoy will be the 1.3 liter Multijet diesel motor bearing the GM markings as this engine was developed jointly by Fiat and General Motors.
The word in the market is that GM is hoping to launch the MPV at the starting price of under Rs 6 lakh. If it succeeds in doing so, Chevrolet Enjoy will surely make Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo run for their money.
