As expected, Mahindra & Mahindra is getting overwhelming response for its latest Sports Utility Vehicle- XUV500! The company has got 5,900 bookings for XUV500 in just two days after the bookings were reopened on January 25. And still 8 more days to go till bookings ends on Feb 3, the numbers will be huge for sure.

“As a unique customer-centric measure, M&M has decided to undertake an XUV500 draw in this round of bookings in case the requests exceed 7,200 (bookings),” Mahindra & Mahindra said in a statement. The draw process will be validated by the professional services firm, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India.

Mahindra had received 8,000-plus bookings in just 10 days after the launch of XUV500 in October 2011. So, it suspended the bookings until January 25.

The company has also raised prices of XUV500 from Jan 1, 2012, due to increase in the prices of raw materials and depreciation of the rupee.

Currently, the XUV500 W6 is priced at Rs 10.8 lakh, W8 2WD retails at Rs 11.95 and the top-end 4WD W8 variant is available for Rs 12.88 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
