The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, has launched a ‘Spiced Up’ version its compact car A-Star. The new revamped Maruti A-Star with new design bits, interiors and safety features is priced between Rs 3.67 lakh and Rs 4.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The retail sales of the new “spiced-up” A-Star will start from today January 27.
“The smart modifications in the spiced-up A-star are in line with customer feedback and seek to enhance the overall look, feel and comfort of the buyers,” Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava said in a statement.
Maruti Suzuki A-Star required a fresh life as it was getting stagnated in the market among many new competitors. The A-Star was quite peppy looking from outside, but, the interiors did not match the exterior. The company did just that by fitting dual-tone grey and beige fabrics in the car, making it a much fresher place to be inside. Now the interior and exterior of the car can complement each other naturally.
Maruti adds that the front seat head restraints reworked to give more spacious feeling. The rear seats now have a 50:50 split for better user convenience and boot space usage. Also the cubby holders provided on the rear doors make life easy for the passengers seated behind.
Along with these minor additions, Maruti Suzuki has also added a new variant to the existing A-star line-up. The top of the line ZXi variant is now split into two variants – one that can be bought without the safety features and the other that comes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and front airbags.
