TVS Motor Launches Upgraded Star City

The third largest two wheeler maker in the country, TVS Motor Company, today launched an upgraded version of its 110cc commuter motorcycle TVS Star City. The base version of the new bike starts at Rs. 38,650 (ex-showroom, Delhi) with a five-year warranty.

So what’s new in 2012 TVS Star City? According to company statement, the latest Star City edition comes in a dual tone body color, and TVS is offering the bike with 6 new color combinations. The new dual tone graphics of the bike includes Gold Spark, Red Blaze, Bold Blue, Electric Green, Crimson Flash and Silver Strike.

The refreshed bike sports an all-new  headlamp with new clear indicators.

That’s not all. The engine of the new 2012 Star City will employ TVS’s ingenious ‘Continous Variable Timing Ignition’ which supposedly improves acceleration and performance without impinging on fuel economy.

Mileage on offer is reported at 83.9kmpl as certified by ARAI. The Star City 110cc engine uses a continuous variable timing ignition (CVTi).

The competition in the 110cc four stroke commuter motorcycle segment is clearly hotting up with as many as three new motorcycles to be launched over the next few months. In the coming months, three all new motorcycles, namely the Hero Passion XPro, the Honda Dream Yuga 110 and the Suzuki Hayate 110 will be launched in the Indian motorcycle market. All of these motorcycles feature 110cc four stroke engines.
