Maruti Suzuki Launches New Swift DZire At Rs 4.79 Lakh

The largest car maker in the country, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., today launched new version of its compact sedan Swift DZire. The new car which will be available in both petrol and diesel variants is priced between Rs 4.79 lakh to 7.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Swift DZire will be produced from the company’s Manesar plant, will compete with Toyota Etios, Hyundai Accent, Tata Indigo CS and Mahindra Verito.

Maruti Suzuki Launches Revamped A-Star

The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, has launched a ‘Spiced Up’ version its compact car A-Star. The new revamped Maruti A-Star with new design bits, interiors and safety features is priced between Rs 3.67 lakh and Rs 4.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The retail sales of the new “spiced-up” A-Star will start from today January 27.

Fiat Signs Deal To Supply Diesel Engines To Maruti Suzuki

Italian carmaker Fiat and Suzuki Motor Corporation have reached an agreement for the supply of Fiat Diesel Engines to Maruti Suzuki (India). As per the agreement, Fiat India Automobiles Limited (FIAL) will produce 1 lakh 1.3L MultiJet 75hp BS-IV Small Diesel Engines annually to Suzuki’s subsidiary Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL).

Maruti Suzuki, GM India Hikes Car Prices

Auto majors Maruti Suzuki and General Motors India have increased the prices of various models to offset rising input costs and the impact of currency fluctuation. Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has hiked prices of its vehicles across models, except for entry-level sedan DZire, by between 0.3 per cent and 3.4 per cent. GM India has also increased product prices by between 0.5 per cent and 1.75 per cent.

New Maruti Swift DZire To Be Launched In February

After the launch of new Swift hatchback last year, it was inevitable that Maruti Suzuki would come with new Swift DZire, too. The company has confirmed that it will launch a more compact version of DZire in February. Although the new model is sub-4-metres in length, qualifying for less for the excise duty of 10% enjoyed by small cars, it is unlikely that the new version of DZire will be priced lesser than the existing one, which ranges between Rs 4.94 lakh and Rs 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Auto Expo 2012: Maruti Suzuki Unveils Ertiga MPV

The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki unveiled its first Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) called Ertiga at the ongoing Delhi Auto Expo 2012. It will be launched by end of March or early April 2012 in both petrol and diesel versions. The 7-seater Ertiga, earlier codenamed R3, marks Maruti suzuki’s entry into the utility vehicle segment. Prices will be announced at the time of launch, expect it to be minimum Rs. 6 lakh.
