Our Asian neaighbour have done it before we could. A Sri Lanka based company has introduced Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car, as a taxi sevice. The company launched the service as an alternative to expensive air conditioned taxis, but more comfortable than the three-wheel taxi.

Tata Motors Launches Magic Iris And Ace Zip In Mumbai

Nitin If you are bored traveling in same old auto-rickshaw, you will be provided with another option soon. Tata Motors has launched a small passenger carrier, Magic Iris, which is a low-cost public transport vehicle. The company also launched Ace Zip, a micro truck with a payload capacity of 600kg. Tata Magic Iris is priced at Rs. 1.95 lakh, while Ace Zip will be available for Rs. 1.90 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom, Thane).
Bangalore to have Tata Nano as auto-rickshaws

Nitin If Karnataka Government has its way, the IT city of India, Bangalore, will get country’s cheapest car, Tata Nano, as public transport vehicle. The State Government’s proposal to buy 10000 Tata Nano get passed, the car will replace auto-rickshaws in the city.
