December 2011 Sales: Tata Motors Up 22%, Nano Grows 29%

One of India’s largest automobile company by volume, Tata Motors, reported overall sales growth of 22 per cent in December 2011. The company sold 82,278 units last month compare to 67,441 units sold in the same month of 2010, Tata Motors said in a statement.

Tata Motors To Replace Starter Motor Of 1.4 Lakh Nanos

Though the manufacturer keeps denying it, this seems to be the biggest recall in Indian automobile history. Tata Motors has decided to replace the starter motor of an estimated 1.40 lakh Nano free-of-cost. Intensely denying this is a recall, the company said it is changing the old starter motor with a new and ‘better’ one, an exercise that will reportedly to cost the firm around Rs 110 crore.

Tata Nano Production Down To Half Of Its Capacity

India’s largest automobile company, Tata Motors, said that it is producing its small wonder Nano at less than half of the annual installed capacity of 2.5 lakh units at Sanand, Gujarat due to lower demand. The company recently launched its first upgrade of Nano to boost its sales which suffered heavily after too many reports of catching fire.

2012 Tata Nano Unveiled With Improved Mileage

Tata Motors has introduced its small wonder Nano with a more powerful engine and new features, while keeping the prices same. The company claimed the car’s mileage has been improved to 25.4 km per litre, up from existing 23.6 km per litre, certified by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).

Tata Nano GoldPlus Is Worth Rs 22 Crore

Made to be world’s cheapest car, Tata Nano is now costlier than Bugatti Veyron- the costliest car available in India. Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Groups on Monday unveiled a Nano car – made with gold and silver, and studded with precious stones – worth an astronomical over Rs 22 crore.

Tata Nano For Mumbai Police?

The car photographed below, Tata Nano, is getting a lot of attention at Mumbai Police Headquarters. The car is being considered by Mumbai Police for patrolling in small lanes and chasing criminals (really?). The police are doing a trial of the vehicle and are looking to the possibility of making it a part of the city police.

Ford Will Not Make A Nano Competitor

The world’s fourth-largest carmaker Ford Motor Company has no plans to make a car which would compete with the Tata Nano, world’s cheapest car. The US automobile giant is shying away from ultra-low-cost car market after seeing lukewarm response to Nano sales. Ford recently invested Rs 4,500 Crore to biuld its second Indian manufacturing plant, in Gujarat.

Tata Motors To Open 300 Dedicated Nano Showrooms

Tata Motors is leaving no stone unturned to make its small wonder Nano a big success. After, introducing a lots of offers to increase Tata Nano sales, the automobile giant is now planning to open 300 new dedicated Nano showrooms all over India this fiscal. The company wants to expand its consumer base to semi-urban and rural parts of the country.

Tata Nano Launched In Nepal At Rs 5 Lakh

The world’s cheapest car, Tata Nano, has been launched in Nepal market, Tata Motors said in a statement. The small car will be availble for the starting price of NPR 7.98 lakh (about Rs 5.01 lakh). Recently, Tata Nano was introduced as Taxi Service in Sri Lanka, too.

Tata Nano Enters Sri Lanka As Taxi Service

Our Asian neaighbour have done it before we could. A Sri Lanka based company has introduced Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car, as a taxi sevice. The company launched the service as an alternative to expensive air conditioned taxis, but more comfortable than the three-wheel taxi.
