Maruti Suzuki Launches Revamped A-Star

The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, has launched a ‘Spiced Up’ version its compact car A-Star. The new revamped Maruti A-Star with new design bits, interiors and safety features is priced between Rs 3.67 lakh and Rs 4.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The retail sales of the new “spiced-up” A-Star will start from today January 27.

Nissan To Export Sunny Sedan From March

According to a top official from the company, Nissan Motor India will begin the export of its entry level sedan Sunny from March this year. The Japanese company currently produces hatchback Micra & Sunny at its Oragadam near Chennai manufacturing facility which is jointly owned by French automaker Renault.

Volkswagen May Complete Porsche Takeover This Year For €3.9 Billion

Volkswagen AG may this year complete the purchase of the 50.1 percent of Porsche SE’s automotive business that it does not already own for 3.9 billion euros, Bloomberg reported. VW will get around having to pay more than 1 billion euros in taxes if completing the purchase before 2014 by setting up a holding company to temporarily take control of the stake, the  report added.

GM’s New Chevrolet MPV Will Be Called – Enjoy, Launch In Mid-2012

General Motor’s new MPV which was unveiled at recently held Delhi Auto Expo 2012 will be called Chevrolet Enjoy, Autocar India reported. The car will be the first product to be launched in India from GM’s partnership with Chinese Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) and Liuzhou Wuling Motors. General Motors India will launch the new MPV in mid-2012 which is based upon Wuling CN-100.
